Here are some key points and my analysis.....
* It says that Osama was hiding in the basement of a top Gulbuddin Hekmartyar commander's house in the Nuristan province of Afghanistan. Hekmartyar admitted 2 months ago that he helped Bin Laden and Zawahiri escape Tora Bora in 2001, so it doesn't surprise me that he and his followers are still aiding the fugitive terror leaders.
* Bin Laden was hiding in the basement of a safehouse in the Nuristan province of Afghanistan. For many years, Nuristan has been considered a likely hideout for the Al Qaeda chief. There have been many news reports over the last 6 years about Bin Laden sightings in Nuristan.
* The agent disguised Osama and drove him in a truck to the Kunar province in Afghanistan. Kunar, Afghanistan is a hot bed for Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists and also a very likely hideout for Bin Laden and other top Al Qaeda leaders. Out of all the places in Afghanistan, he would probably feel the most secure in Kunar.
* This is believed to have happened in the fall of 2005 during Ramadan. Make sense...seeing that most of the security forces were probably focused on keeping violence down in the cities during celebrations.
* They drove to the border with Pakistan and crossed over a river by foot! Seems like a pretty risky move to me! He probably did it on a night when there was heavy cloud cover so he wouldn't be spotted by US predator drones.
* Osama Bin Laden was escorted to a hideout in Chitral, Pakistan. All throughout last year US intel officials believed Osama was in Chitral. I guess this proves them right.
My current assessment is that in the year 2007, Osama is still most likely hiding between Kunar, Afghanistan and North Waziristan, Pakistan. Hopefully, our recent stepped up efforts will finally bring him to justice!!
