Izzat Ibrahim Al-Douri: The new leader of Iraq

Saddam Hussein's Baath Party has named Izzat Ibrahim Al-Douri as the new 'president of Iraq'. Al-Douri is the most senior member of the Baath Party still at large and he has a 10,000,000 dollar reward on his head. He is believed to be behind some of the terrorist violence in Iraq.

There have been numerous reports that he is dying of cancer and is extremely ill...but those rumors have been floating around for 4 years now. I doubt they're true, or we would have some confirmation of his death. In November of 2005, there were some claims that he died but they're later denied by the Baath party and US intelligence officials. Currently, he is believed to be alive and in charge of the Sunni insurgency. Although, I don't believe he is still in Iraq. In fact, I don't believe he's been in Iraq for at least 2 years or he would have been caught or killed by now. (A sick, 70+ year old wanted man doesn't evade capture for this long with US Special forces on his ass) He is most definitely in neighboring Syria where Hussein's Baath party still enjoys substantial support.

I wish the US would strike terrorist targets in Syria!
