The chief military spokesman said Thursday that the U.S. does not have body of either the al-Qaeda chief or head of the Islamic State and doesn't know "of anybody that does."
U.S. Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said the military had been conducting numerous operations against al-Qaeda in Iraq over the last six days and he believed that had led to reports that Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri had been killed in fighting.
